These are unprecedented, exciting times for the electricity sector.  The UK has a clear commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and electricity networks are key to the fulfilment of this critical challenge. Our network is central to the viability of new technologies for our customers, such as electric vehicle charging, heat pumps, distributed generation and battery storage; we have ambitious plans for its future development and also our place in a net zero world.

Our property estate, land rights and landowner relationships are core foundations of our network and critical components for delivery of our projects.  Meeting these demands and our customers’ expectations in a timely and cost effective manner whilst maintaining the security of our assets drives dynamic decision-making and solutions which optimally balance traditional, statutory principles and commercial expediency.

Our Estates Team leads on land/rights purchases and the acquisition of consents for our major projects, as well as managing our existing property portfolio.  No two days are the same.  We’re proud to take a lead in innovating across a range of challenges on both a Company-wide and national stage.  We have a well-developed culture of professional development and constantly encourage excellence.

We’re passionate about our Company and the service it provides to our customers.  We’re looking for dynamic people with experience in the land and consents arena, with an appetite for a diverse workload, who can communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.  You’ll find we offer a supportive, rewarding and friendly working environment where you’ll be empowered to build a career. You will enjoy a package of benefits designed to reward your hard work and incentivise your ambition, including a competitive salary, generous annual leave allowance, company pension scheme and wellbeing support.

Western Power Distribution is an equal opportunities employer, a Disability Level 1 Employer and a corporate signatory of WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) programme. Our desire is to bring in more employees from diverse backgrounds to build further on our inclusive culture. We value and celebrate individual difference and we believe that an inclusive culture will help the business grow as a positive, strong and innovative company.
