Our client: Operating in over 70 countries, this huge consultancy works on some big and exciting projects across a variety of sectors and are looking for an experienced cost consultant to join their team today!

Role of the cost consultant: Based in Birmingham and the surrounding areas, the successful candidate will be providing professional and competent advice on numerous residential and commercial projects.

The responsibilities of the role:

Ensuring all projects can smoothly and efficiently progress by meeting with all internal and external stakeholders, whilst aiding the senior team members when undertaking said projects.Assist the preparation of activity schedules, bills of quantities in accordance with methods of measurement, presentation of tender and contract documentation, interview attendance, fully analysing tender.Acting on behalf of the Project Managers at times to ensure only legitimate payments are certifiedIdentify risk and opportunities and resolve problems at a project level, supporting the project delivery team.Responsible for managing and reporting change control procedures within specific contracts.Review contractors and identify breaches in guidelines or partner policies, making recommendations to key stakeholders.

Requirements:

Professional qualification and/or RICS (or other chartered institution) advantageousDegree qualified in quantity surveying or other relevant business discipline.Proficiency using formats of contract such as the NEC3 suite to administer high value, multi-disciplinary construction project work package/ contracts.Previous involvement in managing complex, high value, and varied contracts from a quantity surveying standpoint.Good analytical skills to make informed business decisions to report findings back to clients/stakeholders.Confident with communicating with Senior management and stakeholders.
