What we offer...

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as competitive salary and 33 days annual leave, we are totally committed to flexible working. We’ll support you, wherever possible, so that you don’t miss out on what truly matters to you.

If you do ever need a little bit of extra help we have a great employee assistance programme, financial well-being support and access to loads of great discounts with leading high street names.

Our range of network groups are also there to support you to truly be yourself at work and play a key role in helping shape our future.

If you are a member of a professional body we’ll pay for your membership and once you get your top of the range digital kit you’ll be good to go in one of our great offices (or at home!)

A bit about the role... Working in a team with Paul Ahdal our Head of Infrastructure Grants Project Management, the Senior Manager – Infrastructure Grants Project Management will play a critical role in managing projects funded by Homes England’s Infrastructure Grant funds under agreed Assurance Frameworks and Grant Determination Agreements (GDAs). You will be joining our highly skilled and experienced team of Project Managers, who are committed to making positive change in how infrastructure projects are delivered in order to unlock housing.

Paul Ahdal believes in delivering a first-class customer service, taking an innovative and creative approach to managing projects. Paul believes in working in a collaborative way to foster good decision making and problem solving within their team.

This is a rare chance to shape the future of Infrastructure Grants Project Management, in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional Infrastructure Grants Project Management team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective delivery of a multi-billion pound grant funded infrastructure programme.

The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects. There are some exciting projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the Infrastructure Grants Project Management offering.

A bit about you… Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable supporting the Head of Infrastructure Grants Project Management with complex project delivery issues, aiming to ensure that Infrastructure Grants projects are performing in line with expectations. You will be proficient in project management, assurance and monitoring in an infrastructure of property environment and hold a relevant Professional Qualification in Project Management, Surveying, Planning, Engineering, Accountancy or similar.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

As an experienced project management professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

Who are we? We are the Government’s national housing agency. Our role is to accelerate the pace of house-building across the country, particularly in areas where there are the most serious affordability issues –meaning people are struggling to find homes.

We have the appetite, influence, expertise and resources to drive positive market change and meet the Government’s ambition to deliver 300,000 new homes a year. We are using our land, influence, funds and knowledge to increase the pace, scale and quality of new homes accelerating delivery in areas of greatest demand and helping create great places to live. Within the next few years, we will have invested over £27 billion across our programmes. To deliver against these aims we’re building a different kind of public service - join us to help make this happen.

We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications. We also encourage you to apply using the full application option as opposed to quick apply, this is especially important if you would like to indicate to us that you would like to be considered under the disability confident scheme.

Homes England are a geographically diverse community. We are all working from home at the moment and so our new colleagues can be based almost anywhere providing that their commute to their relevant base office is reasonable when we come back together. Colleague well-being is our top priority.

Please note that Homes England are currently consulting on a pay and grading review.  We will share information with candidates about the outcome of this review and any impact that this may have on this role throughout the recruitment process.

Company

Homes England is the new national housing agency, recently launched to play a major role in fixing the housing market and enabling delivery of homes that our country needs.

Homes England brings together land, money, expertise, and planning & compulsory purchase powers, with a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability.  We work locally in individual communities to help meet local priorities.

We invest mostly in building new homes, but also in creating employment floor space and other community facilities, in cities, towns and villages across the country. The homes we fund include affordable homes for rent and sale, and homes for rent or sale at market prices. Our investment helps build around half of all new homes built in England each year. It also helps increase local growth by creating jobs and supporting businesses.

We own public land, which we sell to house builders and others. This is one of the ways in which we overcome barriers to development and help increase the speed with which house builders can build new homes.

Homes England is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.

Homes England was launched by the Secretary of State on 11 January 2018. Homes England is the trading name of Homes and Communities Agency. To find out more about what we do please visit: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/homes-England.
