I am currently recruiting for a Interim Chief Officer of Communities and Well being for a council in the East Midlands. 6 month contract.

The key focuses of this role will be to support on a task relating to customer services, help with a significant leisure project and support with the promotion of rural, young persons and health & well being strategies for the area.

Remotely based role.

Description

The key responsibilities for the Interim Chief Officer - Communities and Well being:

- Lead on the customer services programme

- Lead on a large scale leisure program

- Lead on the development of strategy and policy in the development of rural, young persons and health and well being policies for the area.

- Help complete the transition of all departments to the CXM systems

Profile

The successful Interim Chief Officer - Communities and Well being would have the following skills and experience:

Knowledge

A clear understanding of the context of political challenges facing the public sector.

Knowledge of the legislative framework relating to the provision of services in the public sector.

Experience

A track record of consistent and demonstrable achievement at a senior management level within local government.

A track record of leading, motivating and managing teams to achieve high performing and significant sustainable improvement and outstanding results, through internal and external partnerships.

Significant experience and a proven track record of the initiation and management of change through innovation and transformation of service delivery.

Experience of working in a pressurised environment and managing competing priorities between individuals and organisations, both internally and externally, whilst delivering on a range of projects and adapting to changing circumstances.

Experience of leading and influencing corporate initiatives.

Experience of managing strategic relationships with key stakeholders and partners at a senior level.

A good understanding of political processes and experience of managing politically sensitive issues and of working with officers and elected members (or equivalent in an alternative public sector or private sector environment).

Experience of effective management of human and financial resources including experience of delivering culture change in teams.

Experience in the preparation and presentation of complex strategy and policy documents to non technical audiences.

Accessing and using opportunities for external funding, ideally to support growth, regeneration or community development.

Job Offer

This is a 6 month contract. IR35 status to be determined. There is a permanent role available at £85,000 if the interim consultant was interested in that post.
