Your new company
We're pleased to be supporting a surveying practice who are looking for a chartered surveyor to take on a case load of disrepair surveys across Cambridgeshire.

Your new role
As a Disrepair Surveyor you'll be surveying residential properties that raised a housing disrepair claim. You'll be inspecting properties and assessing and defects and their respective causes. You'll be assessing any repair works needed and specifying any works that need be undertaken to get the property back to an acceptable standard. On occasion you may attend properties with an expert from the relevant property owner or housing association. The majority of appointments will be booked in for you though on some occasions you'll need to be in contact with the tenant to arrange access. You should also identify any potential H&S hazards such as electrics and potential asbestos containing materials (ACM). This information will be needed when completing the report and to communicate to any supplier and customer. The use of a moisture meter is required when dealing with any water/damp damaged properties to record readings of dampness. You should always photograph the reading on the meter for evidence showing the meter in relation to the position the reading was taken for easy subsequent identification. Finally you'll report on the cause, effects and remedy for any disrepair issues.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a chartered RICS Surveyor and may be working through your own surveying practice. You'll ideally have experience of inspecting defects and creating specifications and schedules for repair works in residential properties.

What you'll get in return
You'll receive a rate of up to £190 per survey with appointments made to fit around any other commitments you may have. This role has been assessed as out of scope of IR35. Flexible working options available.
