THE ROLE

I am seeking a Project Director or Senior Project Manager in the Building Construction industry who has good French and fluent English to join a long established and respected firm of construction consultants to work on two large building construction projects in the Ivory Coast and in Guinea.

Projects are 5* hotels, residential with offices.

For this role you can base yourself in either the Ivory Coast or in Guinea with travel between the two locations as required by the projects.

The contract will be using FIDIC.

This role will offer great prospects for an ambitious person to set up an office to expand services in Africa.

My client provides both project management and cost management to a good variety of international clients.

These two projects will run for around 3.5 to 4 years.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management and Quantity Surveying services.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Construction Management, Construction Project Management or similar construction related subject.

You should be Chartered with MRICS, MICE, RIBA, MCIOB or similar.

You will need to have gained at least fifteen years relevant experience running high value complex construction projects and previous experience of hotels / residential / offices would be preferred.

You will ideally have been working for a firm of building construction consultants or worked client-side.

You must have an understanding of all commercial and economic aspects of construction projects of high value.

A good understanding of the FIDIC contract is essential.

You will need fluent English and good or fluent French and be able to communicate in both languages.

You must be able to work without supervision.

You will be highly ambitious and be keen to set up and expand an office.

Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.

My client is ideally seeking someone from either the U.K., the E.U. or possibly from South Africa.

Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of Euro 9000 to 10000 per month plus accommodation, health insurance, flights plus an end of project bonus.
