Description
The Building Surveyor (Housing - Energy Efficiency) is a newly created role within the Property Services directorate, reporting into the Energy Efficiency Project Manager, and is responsible for giving expert advice to the team on property surveying matters.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Carrying out detailed property surveys, supplementary pre and post work inspections, provide technical advice, value for money reports, property condition reports, minor insurance claims, property adaptations and to provide works specifications supporting the Energy Efficiency Team
- Reviewing detailed reports carried out by contractors and reviewing the recommendations and work needed, and implementing and managing the completion of any works needed from contractor's reports
- Working collaboratively with a number of other teams, including Housing Services, Direct Maintenance, Service Delivery Teams & Leasehold Management
- Management of project budgets, provide cost details and projections and produce value for money evaluations/reports
- Maintain records and systems, providing accurate reports on the service, complaints, and contractor performance
Profile
The successful candidate for the Building Surveyor (Housing - Energy Efficiency) will:
- Have experience working within a social housing environment covering Property Services
- Hold good technical knowledge within Property, including Health and Safety legislation, landlord and tenants act and section 20 process, and Building Maintenance and diagnostic techniques
- Put customer service at the forefront
- Hold relevant qualifications
- Live an easily commutable distance from East London on a daily basis
