Development & Construction Manager

Joshua Robert Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Development & Construction Manager to work for a national multi-sector property developer with a focus on residential, commercial and industrial schemes across the United Kingdom, delivered in partnership with both the private and public sectors.
 
With a diversified portfolio of projects approaching £1 billion in value across over 2.5 million sq. ft of development, they company have a proven track record of delivering projects of exceptional quality for the past 20 years. They are a privately funded business with excellent avenues to property finance, they reply on many years of expertise in the sector covering the full property development life cycle – from site identification and acquisition through to development and asset management.
 
The business is also developing a major proposition for the Buy-To-Rent (BTR) market targeting both urban apartment schemes and sub-urban low-rise family housing models which will be marketed under the Core- Living brand.
 
 
The Role:
 
The role will provide close support to Construction Director in delivery of new and existing projects within the business. Duties will include working closely with development, planning & finance colleagues when assessing new sites, consultant team selection, briefing and leadership from inception to project completion and undertaking early due diligence to assess feasibility / viability of opportunities.
 
The role will also involve establishing and forming good relationships with consultants and contractors to form high performing teams, including design, cost and project management consultants, specialist survey and investigation consultants, contractors, construction and property lawyers, internal development, planning, finance and marketing colleagues.
 
The successful individual will be expected and required to manage day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision. They will be responsible for their own workload and be required to complete all reasonable tasks to achieve this. In addition to their dealings with external parties, they will be responsible for close liaison and coordination with internal colleagues to ensure obligations made in third party agreements reflect those delivered through planning and construction.
 
 
The Person:
 
You will be capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision and will be proactive and willing take on new work tasks. You will be an ambitious individual, willing to grow within the role and progress in the business.
 
You will also understand the formation and management of consultant appointments, services, warranties, novation agreements, building contracts, warranties, bonds, PCGs, third party agreements to deliver the development; s38, s278, s104 etc, project fees & build budget, cashflow and programmes.
