My client is a long established privately owned company specialising in groundworks to both public and private sector clients. Through a combination of reputation, high quality work and competitive pricing policies, they enjoy a high success rate in terms of bid wins, carefully managing costs and margins to ensure profitability and on time delivery. As part of their plans moving forward, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to work closely with the management team, preferably MRICS and degree qualified with a broad range of experience across groundworks, civil engineering and housebuilding. This is a hugely important role, providing not only a link between the directors, clients and on-site teams, but also responsible for supplier selection and management, and the production of applications for staged payments. You will be able to demonstrate strong Excel and organisational skills, able to manage multiple simultaneous projects, and be happy to take the lead when required in terms of dispute resolution or challenging clients in relation to billing for extras. This will require tact, diplomacy and a backbone, so strong verbal and written communication skills are a pre-requisite.
