Duties

 

-You’ll be carrying out general pre and post contract cost management duties on residential

led, mixed-use projects.

-You’ll be taking ownership, accountability and responsibility for projects and duties.

-You’ll be actively and proactively managing and developing client relationships.

-You’ll be delivering an uncompromised quality service, tailored to suit the client’s needs.

-You will be having regular active communication with project parties through conversation, meetings, email, reporting.

-Maximising the levels of value and cost certainty being achieved for our clients.

-You’ll be reporting on project financials at all levels to both internal and external stakeholders.

-You’ll be producing estimates, cost plans and cash flow forecasts.

-You’ll be producing management reports and communicating progress and forecasts to

the client team, including all pre and post contract management duties.

-You’ll undertake benchmarking and comparison analysis between projects and contractors.

-You’ll be negotiating with main contractors and specialists.

-You will be chairing meetings and producing reports on projects.

-You’ll be collaborating and managing external stakeholders in order to understand and

fulfil the client’s needs.

-You’ll be proactive in identifying risk and putting in place a robust mitigation strategy.

-You’ll be producing tender documents, including pre-ambles and preliminaries. Managing the tender process, reviewing, negotiating and reporting.

-You will be managing risk and delivering schemes from inception to completion whilst maintaining regular communication with clients, contractors and developers.

-You’ll be managing budgets, programme, risk, procurement processes undertaking negotiation with contractors, and subsequent projections of overall cash savings.

-You will also be maintaining proactive project management of projects at each RIBA stage, working closely with client teams and external teams.

-You will be proactive in leading project teams and developing strong internal and client relationships.

-You will be managing client projects and looking for opportunities for new client development.

-You will maximise the levels of value and programme certainty being achieved for our clients.

-You will be attending sites, as well as internal and external client facing meetings.

-Assisting in promoting sustainable thinking to our clients and have a basic level of understanding as to how to integrate sustainable thinking into our projects.

 

Essential

 

-You have a Quantity Surveying Degree awarded by a UK university and accredited by the RICS.

-You are a fully Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS), or are working towards this, with a minimum of two years post qualification experience.

-You have experience and understanding of the full RIBA Plan of Work Stages and delivering the role against these.

-You have demonstrable experience in the full life cycle of a client project.

-Demonstrable experience of working in professional services.

-A solid understanding and experience of a variety of procurement routes.

-You have demonstrable line management experience.

-You have solid organisational and management skills.

-You have a proven and demonstrable ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.

-You have a proven and demonstrable ability to deliver on time and provide a high-quality proactive service to clients.

-You have advanced excel skills with the capability of linking spreadsheets, producing graphical reports, lookup formulae and analysis.

-Solid quantity surveying technical knowledge.

-You’d be at an advantage if you have experience in public sector housing development.

-You have a demonstrable ability to multitask and work on multiple projects and clients at any one time.

-You’re able to work effectively using your own initiative and manage your own workload

efficiently.

-You have the right to work in the UK.

-You have a valid, full, clean UK driving license.

-You’re willing to travel nationally.
