Principal Building Control Surveyor

Post Number: DP017

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Salary: Up to £52,503 pa (including a Golden Hello and Incentive Payments)

Could you play your part in managing a busy and diverse caseload in an innovative, thriving and fast developing Partnership?

Located in beautiful South Hampshire, and working predominately in the Portsmouth, Fareham and Gosport areas around Portsmouth Harbour, we have an interesting and challenging workload with a strong mix of Partner companies, including Hampshire County Council and a very high market share for all types of construction projects.

This is an exciting new opportunity created due to the continued success of the Partnership. You will work on all types of major and minor projects from initial enquiry to completion. As well as mentoring and guiding colleagues, you’ll also be hands on in applying Building Regulations and public safety legislation. That will include carrying out site inspections, producing site reports of work in progress and working in partnership with clients and the public. You’ll also work collaboratively with other area teams and champion and market our services that are built around the needs of customers.

As well as being a full member of RICS, MABE or equivalent, you’ll have solid experience and a comprehensive knowledge of Building Control legislation. Just as important is an understanding of the importance of delivering excellent customer service. You’ll also share our dedication to providing consistently high quality in everything we do through collaborative interaction, great people skills and working proactively on your own initiative. Good ICT skills, a full, valid driving license and a flexible approach to working hours are also essential.

We aim to attract, develop and retain the very best people to deliver our services. In return, you would be joining an award-winning Partnership focused on meeting the demands of the impending changes to the Building Control system.

We offer an attractive package including a great pension scheme, authorised parking, generous training budgets, a car lease scheme and a mix of working flexibly from our stand-alone office and remotely from home or site. We take great pride in receiving feedback from others who say we are a friendly, flexible and professional organisation.

If you’re keen to progress your career – and you relish the challenges of the future – we look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date: 1st October 2021
