Interim Director of Place Delivery

The role of Director of Place Delivery is to provide exemplary, strategic leadership across services and the whole Place Directorate. With the rest of the Place Leadership team, the Director of Place Delivery will lead, motive and inspire the whole staff body in Place and promote a cohesive culture and vision for a 6-month initial contract - rates negotiable depending on experience.

By providing excellent outcomes across a diverse range of services, the role will help deliver the Place vision:
To foster everyone’s ability to live fulfilling lives in the ways that they choose: through the long-term stewardship of the borough’s environment & economy and by connecting people to the strengths in our communities and to each other.

The Director of Place Delivery will devise and implement major service transformation programmes which deliver excellent customer services.

The Director of Place Delivery will continuously deliver efficiencies, optimise integration across service areas, pursue opportunities for shared services with other organisations, implement best practice in contract management and make maximum use of digital and technology.

The Director of Place Delivery will foster a culture of innovation, openness and creativity through all service areas. The role will develop community based solutions and actively design services with residents and communities

The Director of Place Delivery will significantly contribute to the council’s wider corporate priorities and the Future Programme. The Director of Place Delivery will understand the needs of elected members, Director of Place Delivery Role Profile deliver political priorities and be responsive to members’ needs.

The Director of Place Delivery will have a major role in working alongside the Executive Director and advising the Council’s Chief Executive, Strategic Leadership Team, Leader, Portfolio Holders and Cabinet in all matters relating to service operations, policy and strategy.

The Director of Place Delivery will deputise for the Executive Director of Place where relevant and represent the Council to external bodies and partners.
