Play a key role in keeping the people and buildings of leicester safe

This role would suit a surveyor who is looking to limit their travel across the country due to our site visits being restricted to in and around the City. A great opportunity to really support a good work life balance.

On top of a competitive salary, you’ll be enrolled to our generous pension scheme which we’ll contribute up to £7,429 per year. In addition, you’ll receive a substantial holiday entitlement, ability to work remotely and paid business mileage.

We’ll be holding interviews week commencing 27th September.

Your role

From assessing building works and monitoring dangerous structures and demolitions, to liaising with the fire service, you’ll help protect communities across Leicester. In this challenging and varied role, you’ll be involved in proactive site visits, enforcing building works regulations and advising everyone from the general public to architects, engineers and public service agencies on all aspects of building safety. With a strong focus on health and safety, you’ll also enjoy the chance to influence sustainable developments and environmental improvements. How? By ensuring relevant policies are implemented and all building works are designed to save fuel and power.

What you'll need

You’ll be an experienced surveyor with proven knowledge of building control and a strong understanding of building regulations, particularly relating fire safety. With the ability to deal with people at all levels, from a range of organisations, you’ll be open to new ideas, with the flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities to meet deadlines.
