Due to retirement we have an opening for a Building Control and Property Information Manager within our Building Control team based in the historic and cultural city of York.

With significant developments planned for the future this is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career and join a team who are focused on meeting the demands of the impending changes to the Building Control system.

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Building Control and Property Information teams and will act as the principal technical advisor ensuring technical and legal compliance with the Building Acts, Building Regulations and Safety at Sports Grounds Regulations and providing professional expert advice on building control matters.

Ideal candidates should have:

  • substantial knowledge of Building Acts and Regulations together with allied legislation relating to Building Control and related areas.
  • knowledge of customer care and the principles of equal opportunities in providing a Building Control function.
  • a proven record of the ability to act as the lead officer ensuring compliance and enforcement within the Building Regulations and ancillary legislation
  • a high level of self-motivation
  • excellent time management
  • leadership and management experience
