Description

The Estate Surveyor vacancy is on a 12 month FTC, as the organisation is going into a restructure post review. The estates surveyor role has been ear marked as one that will go permanent but there is a blanket pause on permanent recruitment in this service area.

The role encompasses the full range of estates management work load you would expect. Really interesting portfolio and the tenants vary from the single site client to the large multi national clients that have a global foot print.

South Gloucester has been forced to take a more altruistic view to their investment portfolio. For them ensuring the continued development and growth of their community means sometimes stepping in as the landlord to preserve jobs. Retail is a good example where they have recently acquired a large retail shopping centre.

£50M has been spent over the last 2 years on their investment portfolio, with circa £45M ear marked for investments in the next two years.

The council is lucky enough to have incredibly commercial and working members and officers. A blend that is so rare but is ensuring that the front line services this council provides for the community are preserved by good commercial investments with a good return.

Profile

We are not looking for the finished product and MRICS is not essential. We want someone with varied estates management knowledge. Someone who is comfortable getting their hands dirty and dealing with all aspects of estates management.

We also want a positive energy, someone who wants to be part of a team and work towards a shared objective.
