Managing QS, Quantity Surveyor, Housing, Nottingham, immediate start
Your new company
A Housing Association based in Nottingham are looking to appoint a Managing QS on an interim basis initially until April 2022 where you will have 5 direct reports. The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday and will be paid on a day rate (£55-£65k equiv).
Your new role
Your new role will involve the management of the Quantity Surveying & Estimating function within the Development and Asset Management Team. You will support the new build programmes through the management of commercial tenders and provision of surveying estimates.
- Manages tenders from inception to project launch and monitor ongoing including all commercial, procurement
and financial elements.
· Delivers excellent Quantity Surveying services using expert knowledge to meet corporate objectives.
· Amends tender specifications where appropriate and manages the approval of variations to contracts to ensure
the continuance of work on projects.
· Managing and Delivering regular financial statements/reports projecting the anticipated final project cost and any predicted variations.
· Acts as Company ambassador, promoting the Company's culture and values internally and to other stakeholders.
· Supports the Head of Development and management colleagues to lead, manage and develop the department
· Effective cross company engagement with other Provide professional advice and support including interpreting and presenting reports to EMT, Board Members, tenant and leaseholders representatives relating to the QS service.
·Responsible for team planning, organisation and managing their team within the Company's culture and values.
·Accountable for the team's performance and for the delivery of the team's objectives.
·Responsible for effective resource management and value for money in their service area.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in quantity surveying or HNC in Building Studies or equivalent/ established track record of success in a relevant field may also be considered.
- Professional Qualification i.e. MCIOB, RICS or equivalent/ established track record of success in a relevant field may also be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years for a construction / Housing related organisation.
- Proven experience working within various types of construction contracts.
- Ability to understand the company's financial regulations.
- Proven experience, knowledge and understanding of the legal framework (acts and statutes).
