Role of the Head of Building Surveying:

Supervise and mentoring all Chartered Surveyors and graduates within the team in order to provide a good broad breadth of work for each professional member of the team and to help and monitor their personal and professional development.Prepare and implementing a quality control scheme for all work within the department. This should include a regular check on reports from each Chartered Surveyor to ensure the correct templates are being used and quality is to an acceptable level.Keep templates and terms and conditions up to date and compliant with RICS guidelines.Budget control within the department, preparing and delivering annual turnover and profit targets.Prepare monthly team reports including turnover by surveyor.Attend team leader meetings as required and preparing reports for the meeting, and thereafter, as necessary.Maintaining adequate records for PII and RICS returns.Overall responsibility for business development and marketing of the department.Ensure the smooth implementation by the Building Surveying Department of new administrative systems and company-wide initiatives.

Requirements of the Head of Building Surveying:

Have a minimum of 5 years PQE (MRICS)Experience of undertaking a variety of commercial and residential building surveying which will includeResidential building surveysDilapidationsOverseeing maintenance, repair, fit out and refurbishment worksContract AdministrationCoordinating tenders
