We are working with a leading Asset Management organisation on a newly created role for a Building Surveyor/Project Manager

This new role is of fundamental importance to the business, and is instrumental in providing in-house Building Surveying and construction expertise to support the company asset protection obligations and Building Safety Management

Description

The Building Surveyor/Project Manager role will involve providing expertise, support and advice on all Building Surveying, Project Management and Health and Safety matters across the investment portfolio, with particular emphasis on building safety and remediation of major projects including issues related to the construction of a building and fire safety matters

General responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure Managing Agents are discharging their duties in respect of Building Remediation and Building Safety
  • Providing Project Management, Monitoring and Programme Management on remediation projects
  • Monitoring progress and compliance of projects against milestones in Funding Agreements, produce update reports as required on each of the projects including tracking of budgets vs actuals
  • Liaising with developers and warranty providers on their obligations to re mediate properties
  • Assisting the H&S team with the relevant outside stakeholders including Fire & Rescue Services, Local Authority Enforcement Teams, HSE and, in time, the new Building Safety Regulator, as well as liaising with leaseholders, resident groups, Primary Authority Partner, Local and Central Government and others

Profile

The successful candidate for the Building Surveyor/Project Manager role will:

  • Hold knowledge of building construction and maintenance of low/high rise residential blocks; building/defects surveys affecting the integrity and safety of a building and its occupants
  • Have experience of residential block management along with an understanding of service charges and leases with the ability to explain complex information clearly to leaseholders and other stakeholders who may not have a technical background
  • Have experience of managing and motivating external multi-disciplinary teams
  • Hold graduate or equivalent level with membership such as RICS, RIBA, MCIOB
  • Have a full UK Driving licence
  • Be easily commutable to London and surrounding areas on a daily basis
