Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with East Devon District Council to recruit 2 Estates Surveyors, in an exciting opportunity that has arisen within their Estates Team. You will work in supporting EDDC delivering & promoting their outstanding environment. East Devon District is currently compromised of two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and forms part of England's first & only World Heritage site designated for its natural environment.

There is a vast and captivating landscape encompassing intimate woodland, boasting an array of scenic walks along the coast. For the right candidate a relocation reimbursement of up to £8000 (inc VAT) is available, subject to Terms & Conditions.

Your new role
Under the general direction of the Senior Estates Surveyor, you will participate in broad activities with the team, focusing on the provision of estate management, property consultancy and valuation advice, in a bid to maximise financial returns and contribute to the delivery of the Council's Corporate Priorities. The role would encompass all the general responsibilities of an Estates Surveyor, such as management of industrial properties including new lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, enforcement, and variation of lease covenants.

You will prepare reports and provide professional advice to other council departments, cabinet, portfolio holders and members on all property related matters, to the highest possible standard. You'll also have an opportunity to become involved in strategic work, including disposal of surplus property as well as partnering with housing colleagues to support new housing acquisition schemes.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have an excellent and demonstrable track-record across all aspects of estate management. You will be articulate and efficient, and have experience communicating in a clear and concise manner. MRICS qualification is desirable, but not essential, East Devon District Council will provide support for APC for the right candidate.
