Senior Project Sponsor / Manager - South West

Opportunity for a Project Sponsor / Manager to join a government agency delivering high profile highway scheme

Your new company
You will be joining a government agency who are responsible for the planning, design, build and operation of motorways and major A roads across the UK. A delivery focused organisation, your new employer have invested billions into new routes and additional road capacity across the UK since 2015.

Your new role
You will initiate and oversee the sponsorship of a large scale Tier 1 project - the main project being the A358 scheme in Somerset. You will help to achieve the outcomes of large scale regional and national investment, looking at wider government policy and strategic responsibilities. Other duties will include development of project briefs, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships at a senior level, and looking at business cases, both assist with the production of business cases, the review, and submission.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position you should have prior experience in a Senior Project Manager or Project Sponsor role, which would have been within the public sector, highways, civil engineering or capital building project sector (including for consultancies). You will need to have a specific understanding of business cases and associated governance processes, including an understanding on how to write and produce a business case for a multi-million pound project.

You'll be able to take advantage of a flexible hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to spend 2 days per week in a Bristol or Exeter office, with the remainder of the role working from home.
