£40,000 to £46,000 + Benefits + Possibility of Free Accommodation
Estate management challenges don’t come much more exciting than this.
Bethany is far more than just a School: it’s a registered charity and unique educational establishment with a history stretching back to 1866. You’ll be far more than just an Estates Manager: you’ll be a powerful catalyst for change as you take ownership of our largest non-teaching team and ensure that everything operates efficiently.
Bringing together established operational departments under a single point of leadership, you’ll be able to make this position your own as you challenge the way we think and work to take our estate to the next level. And what an estate it is – 60 acres in the stunning Weald countryside, boasting superb facilities for our 360 boys and girls. But that’s just the beginning: we have an ambitious programme of upgrades and refurbishment, including a £3 million new build project next year. You’ll be at the heart of it.
Taking total responsibility and hitting the ground running, you’ll make certain we’re more than ready for our next inspection as you inspire our facilities, grounds, and cleaning teams; plan and execute major works; deploy substantial construction budgets and lead key contracts from planning to delivery and handover.
It’s an incomparable challenge, requiring an exceptional professional. Fully versed in health and safety management, compliance requirements and evolving legislation, you’ll be adept at project planning, scheduled maintenance, financial control and much more. Chances are you will hold a formal estates management qualification and IOSH or NEBOSH certification, and you will certainly be an outstanding performance manager with the vision and resilience to make colleagues see things your way. Above all, you will relish responsibility, thrive on accountability and be ready for real autonomy and exposure.
In return, you can expect an exceptional package of rewards including a pension scheme with 10% employer contribution, Benenden Health Care, free lunches during terms, free parking and use of our Olympic-sized swimming pool and gymnasium. What’s more, we may be able to offer accommodation at a significantly reduced rent for the right person – or entirely free if you’re willing to take on additional responsibilities.
