Senior Building Surveyor Required

My client is a large organisation with charity status currently seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to undertake a range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Managing a team of four qualified surveyors
  • Contribute to the development of the organisation’s annual capital programme and manage its implementation.
  • Lead on the specification and management of high-value construction and refurbishment projects.
  • Develop and manage a programme of annual stock condition assessments and the associated costed & planned preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Manage, monitor and control the maintenance budgets and make financial forecasts.
  • Create and run approved contractor networks throughout the UK.
  • Ensure that relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and contracts are understood and applied.
  • Check and ensure that all the organisations’ properties meet the necessary testing, validating, certification and registration requirements.
  • Assist with acquisition and disposals and schedules of dilapidations.
  • Ensure comprehensive records are maintained on properties.

The ideal candidate will need to be an experience chartered building surveyor, with a proven background that includes leadership and proactive management.

To be considered you will also need:

  • RICS - Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS)
  • Degree in Building Surveying/Construction or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and regulations applicable to surveying and experience of applying them.
  • Substantial work experience in a mixed portfolio building surveying environment, including commercial properties.
  • Experienced in managing teams, and able to manage staff working remotely, including setting operational plans, KPIs and managing performance.
  • Proven experience of using AutoCAD.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Project and time management skills.
  • Willing and able to work flexibly, including additional and unsocial hours and travel to managed properties in England, Wales and Northern, making overnight stays if necessary.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
