Halton is a unitary authority located in the North West England astride the River Mersey. Following the construction of the Mersey Gateway Bridge in 2017, it has an ambitious and varied programme of current and future major re-development and regeneration projects.

The Asset Management team is looking to appoint a Surveyor to provide guidance and support in the provision of professional advice on valuation, estate management, major projects and asset management activities for the Council.

Reporting to the Asset and Valuation Manager you will have practical knowledge and experience of preparation of asset valuations, advising on property matters as part of multi-disciplinary regeneration project teams. You will be working on bringing forward disposal programmes of surplus assets and acquiring assets for the delivery of Council services and estate management issues of the Council’s property portfolio.

In this role you will contribute to providing professional advice on valuation, estate management matters and provision of a broad range of property related advice and support to the Council.

In addition, you will assist the Principal Valuation Surveyor and Principal Estates Surveyor with the development and estate management of the Council’s property interests, disposals, acquisitions ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

You will be familiar with the principles of Strategic Asset Management showing a commitment to quality and best value, being outcome focussed. You will be a confident communicator, using collaborative skills and team player who prioritises work with the ability to meet deadlines.

For all posts you will hold corporate membership of the RICS.

The post holders must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle. Where necessary, reasonable adjustments will be made in accordance with the Equality Act.

The Asset and Valuation Team employ a ‘Hybrid Working’ policy to support both remote working, including home, and or other Halton Borough Council venues.
