Act as a Head of Construction Programmes delivering a £300M major project in London

Client Details

Our client is a public sector investor/developer

Description

  • The post will be responsible for monitoring and facilitating the construction programme of works within the governance structure of large projects
  • The post will also be required to manage other construction related workstreams acting in, co-ordinating and representing the client's interests
  • Accountability to the Property Projects Group Director for project delivery across the division including creating and leading programme/project managers where appointed to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and scope constraints
  • Working closely with the wider Programme Team, including the respective Programme Directors and senior leadership team reporting to the respective Boards and Committee.
  • Set project controls and design the programme structure and organisation appropriate to each stage. Set appropriate delivery methodologies. Manage effective transition between phases.
  • Manage both internal and external resources, including identifying skill requirements, and deploying and developing resources.
  • Stakeholder management, including identifying and managing stakeholder relationships for example, respective Landowner negotiations and communications and need for senior level support for these negotiations. Manage other internal and external relationships as appropriate.
  • Provide reporting and engage in mechanisms that hold the programme/project to account for delivery. e.g. project boards, committees etc.by implementing effective governance and decision-making processes.
  • People and programme, including providing support, guidance and coaching for the project team. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.

Profile


  • Educated to degree level preferably in an associated subject, Building Surveying, Construction Project Management, or Engineering.
  • Relevant chartered professional status, e.g. RICS, CIOB (Project Management Pathway)
  • Relevant work experience associated with working at an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise (5-10 years of PQE),
  • Extensive track record of effective partnership working with internal and external stakeholders on the management of complex construction projects in excess of £50m
  • A sound knowledge of the regulatory and legislative framework governing project management and development.
