Rural Surveyor - Somerset

Beach Baker are working exclusively with an established Firm of Chartered Surveyors, Auctioneers and Estate Agents.

With several offices located across Somerset and Wiltshire, they have a fantastic opportunity for a Rural Surveyor to join their Professional team.

You will be joining an established and knowledgeable team providing a wide range of services to their clients. Due to their location, and the nature of the Firm, this position boasts varied day to day working.

Main Purpose:

Providing rural professional service to a private client based on the Somerset/Wiltshire border. To increase the client base, office profitability and promote the firm to the best of your ability.

As a Rural Surveyor, your main duties will include:

  • You will be primarily engaged in Rural Practice which will include the following:
    • General property and land management.
    • Claims for compensation, subsidies and grants.
    • Valuations for all purposes, both formal and informal including bank, probate, IHT planning, Pension etc.
    • Planning applications where experience and understanding allows.
    • Involvement in property auctions and sales/rentals by private treaty as required.

Personal Attributes required

Professional Qualifications Required: RICS accredited degree

Relevant Experience: Must have a knowledge of property and rural land matters and carry a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.

Knowledge of the local area would be advantageous.

Intellectual/ Personal Skills: Must have excellent communication, and interpersonal skills; be self motivated, display initiative and have a high level of integrity.

Computing Skills: Must have a good level of IT competence, and be a confident user of office 365.

Work Environment Must have a valid driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes.
