We are recruiting for an Interim Regeneration and Development Director for a contract role with a council in the North of the UK. This role will be the lead on the key developments that are taking place to regenerate the industrial and water side parts of the community. The consultant will ensure that the developments are set up correctly from the outset, de risking and nurturing developments to facilitate the regeneration ambitions of the council.

Client Details

My client is one of the largest councils in the North of the UK. It has tremendous ambition to redevelop and regenerate the waterside and industrial areas of its community. It is a blend of private and public sector investment. The council need a development consultant that can help with the promotion of these developments and structure the developments to protect the councils' interests. Attendance on site will be required to be 2/3 days a week to ensure that you are visible to all necessary, elected members and officers of the council and to their potential private investment partners.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Interim Regeneration and Development Director would include:

  • Be the primary lead setting up developments with private and public sector funding
  • Support the organisations whom the council have set up joint ventures with to ensure that the development programs and milestones are met.
  • Help de risk developments as much as possible to partner with partners whom pre let developments can be agreed for.
  • Nurture potential partners propositions to ensure that they come to fruition in a sustainable manner which supports the regeneration of the region.
  • Management of the development team at the council.

Profile

The successful Interim Development and Regeneration Director will ideally have the following experience and skill sets:

  • Have both private sector and public sector development experience
  • Have experience with water front developments
  • Have experience of de-risking investments
  • Be able to be in the North of England 2/3 days a week for the entirety of the assignment
  • Have experience leading large teams
  • Have experience of commercial and residential development programs
  • Have a positive energy, a can do attitude and the ability to bring together a efficiently performing team

The Interim Regeneration and Development Director would receive a well remunerated daily rate. There is the need to be at the council in person to lead on these developments.
