Our client is an award-winning property and construction consultancy who opened their doors almost 40 years ago, and since then they have successfully made their stamp delivering projects worldwide. Their speciality lies within urban renewals, regeneration schemes and renovations with a portfolio of English heritage projects as well.

There is now a space in the Public Sector team for a Quantity Surveyor / Employers Agent to join. You will be based in their office in West London and be expected to travel to various residential and public sector sites across London.

Aspects of your role will include:

Carrying out general pre and post contract cost management and employer's agent/contract administration duties on residential led, mixed-use projects.Taking ownership, accountability and responsibility for projects and duties.Actively and proactively managing and developing client relationships.Delivering an uncompromised quality service, tailored to suit the client's needsHave regular active communication with project parties through conversation, meetings, email, reporting.Maximising the levels of value and cost certainty being achieved for our clients.Reporting on and proactively managing project financials and risks at all levels to both internal and external stakeholders.Producing reports such as tender, estimates, cost plans and cash flow forecasts.Producing management reports and communicating progress and forecasts to the client team, including all pre and post contract management duties.Undertake benchmarking and comparison analysis between projects and contractors.Negotiating with main contractors and specialists.Chairing meetings and producing reports on projectsCollaborating and managing external stakeholders in order to understand and fulfil the client's needs.Proactive in identifying risk and putting in place a robust mitigation strategy.Producing tender documents, including pre-ambles and preliminaries. Managing the tender process, reviewing, negotiating and reporting.Managing risk and delivering schemes from inception to completion whilst maintaining regular communication with clients, contractors and developers.Managing budgets, programme, risk, procurement processes undertaking negotiation with contractors, and subsequent projections of overall cash savings.Maintaining proactive project management of projects at each RIBA stage, working closely with client teams and external teams.Proactive in leading project teams and developing strong internal and client relationships.Managing client projects and looking for opportunities for new client development.Maximise the levels of value and programme certainty being achieved for our clients.Attending sites, as well as internal and external client facing meetings.Aware of and keep up to date with relevant legislation which affects the projects being developed by our clients.Assisting in promoting sustainable thinking to our clients and have a basic level of understanding as to how to integrate sustainable thinking into our projects.


You have a Quantity Surveying Degree awarded by a UK university and accredited by the RICS.You are a fully Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS), with a minimum of two years post qualification experience, or are working towards this.You have a minimum of 5 years work experience within the industry as a Quantity Surveyor / Employer's Agent.You have experience and understanding of the full RIBA Plan of Work Stages and delivering the role against these.You have demonstrable experience in the full life cycle of a client project.Demonstrable experience of working in professional services.A solid understanding and experience of a variety of procurement routes.You have demonstrable line management experience.You have solid organisational and management skills.You have a proven and demonstrable ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.You have a proven and demonstrable ability to deliver on time and provide a high-quality proactive service to clients.You have advanced excel skills with the capability of linking spreadsheets, producing graphical reports, lookup formulae and analysis.Solid quantity surveying and technical knowledge.You'd be at an advantage if you have experience in public sector and private housing development.You have a demonstrable ability to multitask and work on multiple projects and clients at any one time.You're able to work effectively using your own initiative and manage your own workload efficiently.You have the right to work in the UK.You have a valid, full, clean UK driving license.You're willing to travel nationally
