Senior Valuation & Estates Surveyor

Salary:  £40,045 (Grade 11 plus a salary supplement of £4,300)

Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time – 37 hours per week

Base: Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire

We seek an experienced and proactive chartered surveyor to assist in the delivery of valuation and estates services dealing predominantly with the residential sector.

You will be a key member of the award winning friendly and commercially focussed valuation and estates team dealing personally with a range of residential based work involving valuations, acquisitions, disposals and estates management.

The council has ambitious plans to increase its council house estate by 1000 new dwellings in the next five years. This will include a range of rented, specialist and shared ownership dwellings across the council’s large geographic area. This role will play a key part in this delivery dealing with a range of acquisitions including market acquisitions, long term empty properties, Section 106 acquisitions and working with developer partners for new build schemes.  In addition, you will support the in-house delivery team in identifying and assembling sites for the council’s own build programme, manage the estate shops portfolio and undertake a wide range of valuation work of both land and dwellings.

You will need to be a fair but strong negotiator, have a good grounding in the residential sector and be confident in carrying out valuations.  Above all we are looking for someone who is positive, enthusiastic and with the experience and character to deliver against a busy programme of work.
