Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a leading property consultancy based in Oxfordshire.

The business are an independently owned multi-disciplinary property consultancy, with offices across the UK. Their Oxfordshire based office a growing business with a strategy to expand it's existing client offering, including it's Building Consultancy department.

The Building Consultancy department provides a range of professional Building Surveying services to a portfolio of clients across the Private Sector. The team have a predominant focus in a variety commercial property types, typically advising private investors, independent property companies, landlords and occupiers. As part of the next stage in it's growth strategy, the department is looking to appoint a new Senior Building Surveyor to join the team.

Your new role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for undertaking a range professional Building Surveying work. You will operate across a range of commercial property sectors including office, industrial, leisure and mixed-use schemes.

Key Responsibilities may include -
  • Undertake pre-acquisition building surveys and schedules of condition
  • Preparation and negotiation of schedules of dilapidations
  • Preparation of work specifications
  • Project management of construction works and undertake contract administration
  • Undertake insurance re-instatement cost assessments
  • Preparation of planned maintenance programmes

What you'll need to succeed

  • MRICS qualified is essential
  • Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, working at a Senior level
  • Significant experience of working within a Building Surveying practice or Construction Consultancy environment
  • Proficient in a range of professional work including dilaps, pre-acquisition surveys and schedules of condition
  • Excellent report writing and building pathology skills
  • Strong client facing skills and commercialism
