In this newly created role you will be responsible for project management of the annual Capital Programme and you will also lead on Major Capital Projects with a value from £100k to £35m.

Description

The Key Responsibilities of this role are:

• Provide full Project Management services from initial inception stage through to the end of defects liability period and settlement of the final account.
• Lead and manage teams of construction professional consultants
• Provide a full range of quantity surveying services including cost planning, cost management, value engineering and reporting
• Manage the successful delivery of a range of capital projects including those projects being delivered by other members of the team
• Prepare and update Project Management and Quality Assurance Procedures and monitor their implementation by the Division
• Manage the procurement of contractors and consultants to ensure works and services are tendered in accordance with financial regulations/standing orders
• Supervise or provide advice and guidance to other members of the Division as required

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

• A construction related degree or equivalent qualification and significant relevant experience in project management and quantity surveying on large scale capital projects
• It is essential that you have demonstrable, proven experience in leading multiple major projects without supervision with in depth professional knowledge and the ability to develop and deliver design briefs. You must have a knowledge of all relevant contracts, guidance and statues and ability to keep these up to date
• Experience of planning and progressing work activities within general professional guidelines or organisational policy and have an in-depth knowledge of service specific and professional issues, able to communicate effectively with clients, consultants and contractors.
