Job Details

The Company

A progressive firm of Rural Surveyors and Consultants, with offices throughout Scotland and Northern England, looking to expand further within the next few years.

The Role

The successful candidate will be part of the Rural and Agency Department and the role will focus primarily on the agency and valuation workstreams, carrying out a varied and diverse range of instructions throughout Scotland and the UK. The role will also require the development of personal and company profile in the sector, predominantly focusing on the central belt of Scotland. There will also be opportunities to work across other workstreams, maintaining a breadth of professional experience.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Taking a leading role in the delivery of the Agency and Valuation workstreams
  • Providing valuation advice to clients for loan security, accounts and other purposes
  • Producing Red Book valuation reports to a high standard
  • Completing purchase and sale instructions, including tendering
  • Reporting to clients and senior colleagues
  • Becoming a single point of contact to clients
  • Adhering to internal processes, lender requirements and RICS regulations
  • Building the professional business through networking internally and externally and developing close relationships with existing and new clients
  • Developing and identifying new business opportunities
  • Delivering annual budget targets
  • Keeping up to date with changing legislation and valuation practices
  • Acting as a role model and supervisor to graduates

What you will need to succeed

Qualifications and IT skills

  • MRICS qualified
  • RICS Registered Valuer status
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Full, clean driving licence

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience in writing valuation reports for Red Book purposes
  • Experience of Development valuations
  • Track record of purchase and sale work
  • Familiar with lender specific requirements
  • Good market knowledge & strong commercial awareness
