Quantity Surveyor Wanted in Hampton

Your new company

The company is a team of people who love and look after six of the most famous palaces in the world.

These palaces therefore need the greatest of care - the years have taken their toll - so we are now seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work with our in-house professional team to deliver high quality conservation, re-presentation and maintenance projects across all of our sites.

Your new role

• Effective utilisation of resources and assets (people and financial)
• Completing tasks, activities and overall projects within requirements agreed with Principal Quantity Surveyor
• Providing QS services for construction and other property related procurement, contract and financial matters
• Giving contractual and other project related advice in accordance with best professional practice
• Maintaining awareness of contractual developments, new standard forms of contract and case law
• Preparing documents for use in procuring works, supplies or consultancy services
• Preparing estimates of costs and valuations
• Contributing to the production of contract documentation

What you'll need to succeed

Recent graduate or 1 to 2 years post-graduation experience and working towards full membership of the RICS. You will have the unique opportunity to provide pre- and post- contract QS services and cost advice on a fascinating range of projects. You must therefore have a knowledge of procurement routes, estimating, cost planning, risk, and value management as well as types of contract.

Excellent communication skills and writing skills are essential, as are organisational and team leadership skills. You will have the ability to work independently, whilst maintaining a detail-conscious and commercially focused approach, to successfully achieve the completion of our significant projects. An interest and ideally experience of working on historic buildings and within the heritage sector.
