Duties of the Associate Building Surveyor:

The role includes predominantly commercial building surveying work along with some Project Management across a range of building types although largely commercial.The position includes a relatively high level of responsibility and accountability with an opportunity to develop managerial as well as technical knowledge and skills, and to progress within a successful and growing specialist team.Manage risk in service delivery and contribute to service delivery improvement initiatives.Demonstrate organic revenue growth and implementation of the business plan in terms of the commercial building surveying offeringDesign and manage property alteration, refurbishment and maintenance projects from £100k- £1m (contract administration).Manage and undertake professional technical consultancy commissions including Technical Due Diligence, condition surveys etc.effectively communicate ensuring all information is available for the successful implementation and completion of projects.Liaise with the Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control resulting in a cost effective service.To support with mentoring and supervising our junior building surveyors

Role Description of the Associate Building Surveyor:

We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Associate Building Surveyor, to join our client established Lenders and Investors Building Surveying team. The core responsibilities will largely relate to commercial building surveying, however, the workload will be varied and include a mixture of technical advisory and some project work with flexibility potentially to accommodate the specific skill sets and aspirations of the applicant.

The successful candidate will be expected to be technically excellent and have a broad range and experience of commercial surveying / consultancy. Additionally, the candidate should be able to manage both single and multiple project instructions. The job will involve a mixed and varied workload with often the need to balance a number of different instructions simultaneously.

The candidate will largely be focused on service delivery, often working as part of a larger commission team and supporting to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients. The candidate should be confident in dealing direct with the client. The candidate will be required to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and ensuring time expended aligns with the cost forecast to ensure profitability of instructions, (financial performance responsibility).
