Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy and surveying practice based in Bournemouth.

The business provide a range of professional Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying and Project Management services to a wide range of clients throughout the UK. Their client portfolio is varied, working on behalf of hotel and residential developers, commercial property investors and landlords, retail occupiers, housing associations, the NHS and other organisations within the Public Sector.

The business is currently going through an exciting period of growth, with forward thinking plans for this to continue. As such, their QS department is now looking to appoint an additional Quantity Surveyor to add to their existing team. The role will be based at their new Bournemouth office, with plenty of opportunity to work from home.

Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for undertaking and supporting the wider team with a range of pre and post contract quantity surveying / cost management services. This will encompass a focus across a wide range of construction projects, including both new builds, refurbishments and alterations.

Key responsibilities will include -

• Preparing cost plans, forecasts and feasibility assessments
• Administering JCT building contracts including monthly valuations
• Managing budgets, processing contractor payments and preparing cashflow reports
• Providing and supporting clients with project fund monitoring services

What you'll need to succeed

• A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
• Proven experience as a Project QS, preferably from within a consultancy / practice environment
• Experience in providing pre and post contract cost management services on a range of construction projects.
• Proficient in administering JCT building contracts including monthly valuations
• Sound knowledge of the construction process from inception to completion
• Ideally have experience of undertaking project fund monitoring services
