HAYS are delighted to be working exclusively with VIVO Defence, a joint venture between Serco and EQUANS, who are seeking to recruit, a Built Estate Manager to join their highly proactive team on a permanent basis. Situated in Torpoint at HMS Raleigh, it remains the largest Royal Navy training establishment in the Southwest boasting a 240-acre site with 2000 personnel on a typical day.


Your new role
As a Built Estate Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing for managing reactive and cyclical maintenance for the site, managing your team and supply chain performance, ensuring all works are delivered with consistency, quality, and budget in mind. You will be accountable for all compliance / documentation, ensuring that any overdue statutory and mandatory tasks are adequately mitigated for risk. You will spearhead the delivery of minor works, driving your team in a proactive and methodical manner, prioritising where necessary and directly contributing to the overall functionality of the Royal Navy training site. You will be embedded in a diverse environment, equipped with assault courses, fire alarms, building fabrication, and general mechanical & engineering work, and you will have to navigate carefully ensuring the minor works delivered has minimal disruptions to the day-to-day operations of the site.


What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful Built Estate Manager, you will have an ONC or equivalent level qualification in a Building / Civil Engineering or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. The role commands a diverse skillset, and you will have prior experience / a background in Hard Facilities Management, with line management experience and a strong track record of effectively managing external contractors. You will be an excellent communicator, and methodical in your approach as you will embrace the logistical challenges of working within a prestigious Royal Navy Training Ground.
