Property Loan Manager

  • Home based with the company based at Solihull, West Midlands.

The Prize

  • An exceptional opportunity for a chartered surveyor to utilise property development experience within a property loan business.

  • The chosen applicant will be trained to take over the role of managing and expanding Garhill Ltd, a successful property loan business.

  • Garhill is a principal lender, providing loans to experienced property professionals who need capital, usually for up 12-24 months, to assist the purchase and development of commercially viable property projects.

  • Garhill Ltd, established in 1981, is a principal lender of development and bridging finance for asset backed mainly residential new build property schemes.

  • Our business is providing funding to successful property companies and experienced business owners who have identified profitable property projects, allied to secure assets and who need cash to generate profit from the selected project.

The Role

  • To take responsibility for sourcing, appraising and selecting loan applicants and property projects, and managing and monitoring the current loan book to ensure the company and investor funds are protected and utilised in secure and profitable projects.

  • The applicant will have an important role in expanding the business by identifying new funding sources to increase the company loan book and profits.

  • You will have the personal skills and experience in assessing the commercial viability of property projects and the suitability of the loan applicants to deliver the specific projects.

  • The applicant will need to be organised, have experience in the financial and property sectors with good attention to detail, entrepreneurial, discreet, numerate, and able to understand and assess business accounts and property project appraisals.

  • Important attributes also include the ability to gather and assess information on loan applicants and the property project(s) that are the subject of a loan enquiry.

  • We aim to act with transparency and immediacy and implement action to ensure we provide a responsive, accurate and efficient service for our customers and partners.

Company Loan Book 

  • We fund a range of property projects within the UK, mostly Midlands and Cotswolds but also spread from Wales and the north, east and south of England.

  • The projects range from residential new build and refurbishment, warehouse and industrial new build and refurbishment, capital release, property extension and/or modernisation and the optimisation of the capital value of land through planning gain.

  • The upper limit of the value of the loans provided to property customers will be dictated by the demand for the funding we provide allied to the availability of lines of credit to fund Garhill.

The Challenge

  • To manage the loan book

  • Maintain and develop relationships with customers, professionals, brokers, funders and investors

  • Increase the loan book from the current level of circa. £7M to £10M.

  • Thereafter to increase lines of credit to further increase the value of the company loan book, net profits and net assets
