Role Overview:
As part of a multi disciplinary team you will be responsible for securing entry to, or acquisition of rights in, third party land to meet the needs of individual projects in building, maintaining and/or repairing Southern Waters' assets.
The role includes using negotiation and the implementation of Southern Waters statutory powers, in accordance with the 'Code of Practice for the exercise of pipelaying powers on land by Southern Water' where applicable, to secure the required access including agreeing and paying compensation due, as well as instructing and assisting solicitors in the completion of any legal agreements.
Role Accountabilities:

* Liaising with project managers and Delivery/Service Partners to identify individual project needs and manage expectations in relation to securing land entry (45%)
* Preparation of land and compensation estimates, supporting the development of the project schedule and advising on associated risks relating to an individual project (10%)
* Identification of landowners and occupiers and preparation of landownership schedules and landownership index maps (10%)
* Owning the relationship with owners and occupiers affected by the works and liaising with them and keeping them informed and updated throughout the project (5%)
* Advising the project team on land entry matters, including opportunities and constraints and ensuring compliance on the project with Southern Waters' 'Code of Practice for the exercise of pipelaying powers on land by Southern Water' and the Water UK 'Land Entry Principles' where applicable (5%)
* Conveying information from the landowner to the project team that may influence design, constrain the project or mitigate the impact of the project on the landowner/occupier (5%)
* Service of statutory notices in relation to land entry, including the management of any requirements for seeking a Warrant of Entry. (5%)
* Negotiating and agreeing compensation under Schedule 12 of the Water Industry Act 1991. Approval of compensation payments up to a value of £10k (5%)
* Negotiating and agreeing acquisition of an interest in land required as part of a project and managing the process through to legal completion (5%)
* Providing project teams with regular updates on land entry progress, risks and compensation (5%)
