Building Surveyor (Compliance)

Job Type: Permanent

Number of Hours: 37 hours per week

Based at: Hybrid working –based in either Devon or Cornwall with the flexibility to work from alternative locations, including home, subject to business need.

Principal Responsibility:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Surveyor with Devon and Cornwall Police. The principal responsibility of this role is to provide technical support and surveying expertise for the implementation and delivery of the Estates Compliance Framework. In particular to:

•Undertaking a comprehensive condition survey of all Devon and Cornwall Police sites to develop a 30 year financial forecast for the Estate providing the basis for all future planned, cyclical and capital works.

•Carrying out specialist compliance led inspections on items such as but not limited to; fire safety, asbestos and custody compliance to ensure the force remains fully compliant in all areas. The surveyor will also be required to advise on, specify and manage works in relation to the above areas.

•Managing teams of contractors who will ensure full compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations, including the development and implementation of an effective risk management approach to compliance across the organisation.

•Producing project plans for the implementation of planned works. This will include planning programmes of work and managing budgets to ensure value for money is achieved.

•Maintaining and monitor contract performance to ensure high standards of workmanship and value for money is achieved on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police.

•Maintaining high standards of professional practice

Grade / Salary:

The commencing salary will be within Grade 8 starting at £37,134 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £41,517 per annum.
