MRICS Senior/Associate Building Surveyor vacancy within an SME with large growth/investment plans - future career progression to Directorship is on the table!

 

This is a rare opportunity to join a family feel SME with no red tape that are looking to offer strong work life balance! Remuneration will be £50,000 - £75,000 + Benefits + Bonus.

 

Due to continued growth of the company, the SME have a vacancy in their central London office (Waterloo) for a Chartered Building Surveyor to work in a fun, but hardworking environment, to deliver a full suite of building surveying duties to their range of predominantly residential and commercial clients.

 

This position would be an excellent opportunity for a person to develop their career within a forward-thinking, progressive and expanding company. The team currently consists of five Building Surveyors (three of which are chartered) and an Operations Manager. The SME are retained surveyors for a number of prestigious Grade I & II Listed Buildings in London, such as 3-4 Whitehall Court, SW1, Cropthorne Court, W9, and most recently Ranelagh House, in SW3. In addition, they undertake a variety of work on a wide range of property portfolios i.e., the recently completed Greenwich Millennium Village and Peartree Estate developments, predominantly through their links with several residential property management companies.

 

Responsibilities

 

•The role will include acting as lead surveyor with the following project commissions:

 

o Contract administration duties (Project values up to £35,000,000.00+VAT);

 

o Planned maintenance surveys;

 

o Condition surveys;

 

o Defect investigation and diagnosis;

 

o Licence for Alterations; o Party Wall matters;

 

o Pre-Acquisition Surveys; o Project Management;

 

o Reinstatement Cost Assessments (For Insurance Purposes);

 

• Assisting with the development of new and repeat business where possible;

 

• Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a project by project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues;

 

Employee Requirements

 

• Chartered Building Surveyor (with at least six months post qualification experience);

 

• Experience in a wide range of Building Surveying services; (Residential experience would be advantageous but not essential);

 

• Ability to work on own initiative and manage a wide range of commissions;

 

• Ability to achieve pre-set fee targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;

 

• Desire to develop a career within a consultancy environment;

 

• Good team working skills and ability to communicate well at all levels;

 

• Current full, clean driving licence is advantageous but not essential;

 

• Prepared to travel as required;

 

• Must have proficient IT skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) as a minimum. The business Utilise Monday.com as a project management software system and full training will be provided. Knowledge of CAD systems would be an advantage although not essential;

 

• Sound knowledge of construction and basic knowledge of building services;

 

• Maintaining continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with RICS requirements;

 

• Willing to assist Graduate and Assistant Building Surveyors with their APC;

 

• Willingness to take on the management of a surveying team as the role develops;

 

• Effective problem-solving skills;

 

• Ability to present well with good literacy and numeracy skills;

 

• Experience of managing clients and their expectations;

 

• Full understanding of Health and Safety requirements;
