Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

The University of Sheffield has a large estate of 333 buildings covering more than 460,000 square metres which is mainly concentrated across 7 miles in Sheffield, with additional satellite sites in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, Wales, and North West.  The buildings are used daily by 25,500 students and 8,261 staff and the department of Estates & Facilities Management (EFM) is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and gardens, and the associated building systems and services.

We are seeking candidates with a good Honours degree in a surveying based course (or equivalent experience).

The post holder must be a member of the RICS with at least 3 years post qualification experience and have the ability to deal with the day to day property issues as well as more involved matters with long term implications for EFM and the organisation as a whole.  The post holder will be expected to work independently but also as part of a multidisciplinary team crossing all sections of EFM, meaning effective communication is essential.

The position is based within the Surveying Team, which forms part of the Property and Business Services section of Estates & Facilities Management and will be responsible for managing the University’s property assets.  The role encompasses aspects of both general practice and management surveying across a large and varied portfolio.

The position is open ended, 35 hours per week.

We are committed to enabling our employees to work in a hybrid model with flexibility over when, where and how to achieve the required outputs, in discussion with your manager.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
