Rural Estates Manager / Land Agent

Beach Baker are delighted to be working in partnership with The Holker Group to recruit a Rural Estates Manager / Land Agent to be based on-site at Holker Estate in South Cumbria.

This role is a new and unique opportunity, to live and work in South Cumbria based on the Cartmel Peninsular. The role includes the requirement to reside in a well presented and beautifully set Estate property provided as part of the package.

The Company
Holker Estate is a busy and diverse estate, covering some 17,000 acres of beautiful countryside in England’s South Lakeland. The Estate is home to the Cavendish family for whom conservation of the historical Holker Hall, its land, property and wildlife remains imperative.

The Team
The Land and Property department run the Estate’s significant portfolio of agricultural property – including an in-hand farming enterprise, residential/ commercial property and forestry and sporting departments throughout South Cumbria. It provides advice to other profit centres such as Holker Hall and Gardens, Cartmel Racecourse, Burlington Stone and other group businesses on land and property matters as required.

The Position
This is an opportunity for a forward thinking, commercially driven Land Agent to form part of newly established, progressive and specialist Land and Property team. The role reports on day to day matters directly to the Estates Operations Director whom is responsible for the overall management of the Land and Property department.

Day to day responsibilities include dealing with agricultural tenancy matters, residential lettings and management of commercial property. Other departmental work includes managing and advising on forestry and sporting matters and coordination of wider Estate projects at tactical and operational level.

Preparation and presentation of management reports and financial reporting.

Supporting the Land and Property team and working closely with the Estates Clerk of Works to ensure that relevant employees and contractors operate with awareness to, and comply with, all Health and Safety requirements.

The Candidate
You will be MRICS qualified and have a good understanding of estate management matters, with the ability to work in a team and deliver Estate management operations as part of the wider group.

Being a member of CAAV is preferred, but not essential
