Quantity Surveyor - German speaking

THE ROLE

I am seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a firm of construction consultants (PQS) in their office in Berlin, Germany.

You will work on new build, refurbishment, fit our and masterplanning projects across Germany for hotels, residential, mixed use and other projects.

You should be at around Project Surveyor level and be able to do both pre and post contract QS duties.

You will need to have gained some experience of speaking and writing in German and be keen to improve your German - ideally someone will have some level of fluency.

My client will offer good prospects for ambitious quantity surveyors.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing project management, building surveying and cost management services to private and public sector clients.

They work on projects for education, healthcare, commercial offices, masterplanning, industrial and some infrastructure.

They are based in both the UK and in the EU.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager in the building construction industry.

You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.

You will need to have a Degree or MSc in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or another RICS accredited subject.

You must have worked as a QS working on projects from feasibility through project delivery and handover.

You will be conversant with all pre and post contract duties and be able to work at Project Surveyor level.

Duties will also include assisting with contract management, forecasting, preparing assessements, cost reports, attendance at project meetings.

You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents and you will need to have a reasonable level of German (spoken and written) and be keen to improve your German if required.

Salary is negotiable according to your experience but will be in the range of Euro 60000 to Euro 80000 or more per annum plus discretionary bonus and other benefits according to your level of expertise.
