Due to continued success in securing projects from Local Government clients, we’re looking for exceptional Project Managers to join our highly successful teams in either London, Epsom, Tunbridge Wells or Cambridge. Our typical projects range in value from £1m to £20m+ across a variety of Local Authority project types including Regeneration, Residential, Education, Offices, Bluelight, Social Care, Leisure, Community, Energy & Environment, Public Realm and Tourism & Culture. We have a wide variety of high-profile clients giving our Project Managers a diverse and exciting workload.

The role provides opportunity to deliver exceptional Social, Economic & Environmental outcomes for our clients, providing highly positive impacts on communities through exciting “value focussed” project delivery.

It is desirable for the candidate to have ambition to support our Sector Leaders with Working Winning, Networking, Bid Writing, Account Management and other Sector Development initiatives. In turn, the successful candidates will be supported with first class Business Development training and plenty of opportunity to put their skills into practice across our growing portfolio of over 30 Local Authority clients within London and the Southeast.

This role has excellent prospects for an individual who has a strong ambition to progress. As well as technical competence, we are looking for someone with the ability to think laterally, who possesses first class communication skills, strong commercial awareness and who will provide a market leading service to our clients, a commitment to drive new business opportunities, and desire to build a team to enhance the provision of our Project Management service for Local Authorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective project management services across the Local Government Sector
  • Take ownership for successful project delivery
  • Build successful working relationships with sector Clients and manage the in conjunction with senior colleagues
  • Provide high quality project management reporting for projects and internal reporting
  • Have an up-to-date and developing knowledge of legal and technical matters relevant to the project work
  • Apply the principles of quality assurance and environmental management in compliance with the organisation's policies and guidance
  • Build your understanding of Faithful+Gould's service offering and promoting the benefits these bring to Clients
  • Assisting with developing new and repeat business opportunities – participate in local sector networking activities
  • Contribute towards project governance and fee management activities,
  • Involvement in business development, thought leadership and bidding opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Member of a professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB or equivalent recognised institutional body),
  • Previous experience in working for a Project Management Consultancy,
  • Experience in JCT contract administration is essential,
  • You will possess excellent communication, stakeholder and organisational skills and be able to work well in a team environment and form effective working relationships with colleagues and Clients,
  • Experience in delivering a range of public sector projects from inception to completion,
  • Client facing experience, including working with Clients on a commission/project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues,
  • Ability to oversee a team on commissions/projects/programmes.
  • You will have a good level of IT literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite plus preferably MS Project or equivalent programming tool
  • Sound technical health, safety and environmental knowledge, applicable to the business and wider construction industry,
  • Confident, outgoing, with the drive to succeed and develop.
