1st Select have been instructed by a leading landlord with ambitious growth plans to recruit Contracts and Cost Manager.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the landlord optimise value through the appropriate understanding of budgets, costs and the allocation of contractual risks in addition to the implementation of robust contract management methods and processes during project execution.


You will lead contract and cost management activities in delivering various projects with a value from £10-50k up to £20M+.  The scope of work will vary from schemes involving reactive or unplanned maintenance through to larger infrastructure or building schemes.

You will have knowledge of the full project life cycle from inception to complatetion. You will be able to deliver contract and cost management support during the development phases.



  • Strong technical and educational base with a minimum of Honours Degree in quantity surveying or other relevant engineering degree such as civil engineering Professionally qualified chartered status with demonstrable extensive commercial experience Relevant qualification and experience in providing Contract and Cost expertise to projects, with experience in multidisciplinary team delivery environments throughout the whole project lifecycle Multi project delivery experience Experience in Programme Management with extensive contract, commercial and risk allocation skills Experienced in the development of Project Delivery Strategies including risk identification, authoring and negotiating multi forms of contract and bespoke agreements Extensive experience in the administration of different forms of contract including ICC/JCT/FIDIC and NEC construction contracts various professional services contracts and managing commercial negotiations Understanding of statutory requirements, current regulations and approved codes of practice relating to the commercial management of construction projects Ability to think logically and problem-solve to meet project delivery requirements with minimal supervision. Good IT skills, proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
