An opportunity has arisen for Surveyors to join the County's Corporate Property and Land Team.
We have exciting new opportunities available across our growing acquisition, disposal, estate management and valuation teams. There is scope to tailor the role, allowing the successful candidate to join the team which best suits their skills, experience and preferences.
The opportunities include being involved in the acquisition of properties to facilitate the Council’s wider regeneration plans, disposal of surplus County Council assets including vacant buildings, development sites and land, valuation of assets for a range of purposes and management of the estates leasehold interests.
As a Surveyor within Durham County Council you will get an opportunity to engage with local Councillors and other stakeholders within your role facilitating property based transactions to achieve the wider aims and objectives of the Council.
Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent providing a foundation for membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent appropriate professional body. Specialist knowledge of property and property processes are essential.
In the case of successful applicants who are not currently RICS members and who want to become Chartered, support will be provided to undertake the APC.
