Senior Construction Project Manager
Hours of Work: Full-time (1.0fte) - 35 hours per week
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: The starting salary will be from £42,149 up to £46,042 per annum in
Grade 8a, depending on qualifications and experience
This post will be based within the Universities Estates & Facilities department and will offer a new
and exciting senior project management opportunity. The University is at an exciting stage in its
campus development with a Master Plan underway and a wide range of exciting projects
associated with this work. Working as part of a team providing professional services you will lead
the delivery of the annual Capex programme consisting of key multiple integrated construction
development projects that underpins the Universities five-year estates strategy, that will be pivotal
to the overall growth of the University and enhancements of students and staff experience. The
post holder will also play an integral part in delivering the University Master Plan which will consist
of multiple new builds across campus.
This role will play a pivotal part in campus management and development; therefore, we are seeking
an accomplished pro-active forward thinking innovative professional with a proven track record in
leading on a wide range of construction projects, dealing with contract design, management, and
administration to assist in the daily business and future high-profile projects, in accordance with the
needs of the University. The post holder will be primarily responsible for the overall successful
completion and delivery of large projects while providing line management and secondary support
to other team members.
Candidates should possess the relevant qualification/experience and meet all the essential criteria,
along with membership of relevant institutions in a property/built environment related discipline.
Experience of working within a large professional estates and property team, delivering the full
breadth of estates services is desirable, along with the proven ability to specify, manage and
administrate small to large scale estates projects. Experience of the Higher and Further Education
sector would be advantageous.
What you'll need to succeed
Recognised professionally accredited qualification or academic qualification in
Project Management.
AutoCAD - practical working experience or qualifications
MS Project - Ability to create, update and monitor project plans.
Experience in preparation of full Tender and contractual documentation to assist with
procurement.
Experience of working with construction contracts (JCT, NEC) and administration.
