The Estates Programme Delivery section sits within the University's Estates Division and is responsible for acting as Client, on behalf of the University and Lynxvale Ltd, for the procurement of all new build and refurbishment projects associated with the University's Operational and Non-Operation Estate. We have a new opportunity for a Cost Manager to join the Programme Delivery Team. The role will encompass a wide sphere of influence over staff, strategic decisions around investment, asset and property development and delivery, as well as financial understanding and tactical control and intervention in the delivery of capital projects whose individual value can reach £300m.
The role holder is responsible to the Head of PMO and Director of Programme Delivery who are members of the Programme Delivery Senior Management Team.
The principal role of the Cost Manager is to assist the Programme Delivery team to strategically manage on behalf of the University the financial delivery of major new build and infrastructure projects and provide cost assurance. The role includes the creation of new and enhancing existing cost management methodologies and processes and their subsequent implementation.
The role holder will have the skills and experience of working for a large and complex client organisation, with programme level commercial and cost management experience including construction methods, contract types, and procurement. They will have a demonstrable track record in implementing quality standards and procedures with attention to detail, alongside experience of a wide variety of project types and development models where they have managed staff, both internal and external consultants to facilitate project delivery to align with agreed timescales, budget and quality.
The ideal candidate will hold an MRICS qualification.
