Our client is a world-leading teaching and research university, often ranked in the top ten in the world with an annual turnover of well over £1 billion. Part of their vision is to take on the hardest global challenges and the Campus Infrastructure and Operations within the Estates, is responsible for managing support to the complex £2bn property portfolio consisting of 200 buildings. With an annual maintenance spend approaching £30m, managed through a team of 50 technical staff and a wide range of service and specialist contracts (circa 50). The team manages maintenance services, contracts, long-term maintenance and improvements to buildings and infrastructure including critical statutory requirements such as Legionella, asbestos and other complex building related requirements.

Your new role

Develop and deliver Building Fabric services to meet CI&O priorities, through a range of service providers. Act as focal point on maintenance issues for Buildings/Departments across their portfolio as required. Lead the preparation, prioritisation, co-ordination and delivery of assigned projects and programmes, including - Planned works, Long Term Maintenance, one-off projects and business improvement work-streams, whilst also maintaining and updating building asset databases.

What you'll need to succeed

As the successful candidate you will need to be an experienced and qualified Building Surveyor who can demonstrate knowledge in all of the above areas. Whether you have experience in residential or commercial properties your application will be considered. Being a Chartered Surveyor would be desirable but not essential. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential for this job.
