THE ROLE

I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is MRICS qualified and who has a BSc in Quantity Surveying to join a firm of PQS in New York.

Please note my client can only get work visas for British or Irish passport holders. People from the USA and Canada or current green card holders also welcomed.

You will work on new build, refurbishment and fit out projects for a range of buildings but mainly for commercial offices - both new build, refurbishment and fit out and also mixed use buildings.

You should be able to deal with clients, attend meetings and supervise less experienced quantity surveyors as required.

There will be good promotion prospects for the right candidate.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing project management, project controls and cost management services mainly to private sector clients.

They work on a lot of commercial projects including offices, mixed use etc. including high rise buildings.

They have several offices in the USA plus offices elsewhere.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager in the building construction industry.

You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry and have gained both pre and post contract quantity surveying experience.

You will either have a Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying which is RICS accredited or a similar degree and you will need to have gained experience of working as a QS for another firm of private practice quantity surveyors or multi disciplinary consultants.

You will be MRICS qualified and have a BSc in Quantity Surveying.

You will have gained five years or more experience of pre and post contract duties including feasibility studies, cost estimating, cost planning, tender documentation and award, contract administration and all post contract duties.

Someone who has worked on large offices would be preferred.

You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents.

Salary is negotiable according to your experience but likely to be in the range of US$135000 to US$150000 plus medical insurance, discretionary bonus etc.
