As part of the senior management team for the Estate, you will have overall responsibility for the running of the “traditional” elements of the Estate. This will include the day-to-day management of the residential and commercial property and let farming portfolios, the shoot, fishing, in-hand farming and woodlands, and the opening of Stratfield Saye House to the public. You will have budgeting and P&L responsibility for all of these departments.

In addition, the Resident Agent is the Landlord for the Estate’s trading businesses (Wellington Riding, Wellington Country Park, Wellington Farm Shop, Daneshill School and Wellington Wellbeing).

A team of 25 Estate staff will report to you. You will be responsible for their day-to-day work scheduling and overall management.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance across the Estate and overseeing this across the trading businesses, including health & safety and GDPR.

You will coordinate all matters relating to security across the Estate.

You will provide support to the Managing Director to assist with furthering the Estate’s strategic vision.

The Person:

You will have a proven track record in Estate management, either in practice or industry, and be a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors with a minimum of 3 years PQE.

You will have strong and proven people management and leadership skills and a good working knowledge of all relevant areas of compliance, keeping regularly updated on any changes.

You will be required to live at Stratfield Saye for the proper performance of your duties. An attractive remuneration package is available.

About The Estate:

Stratfield Saye has been home to The Dukes of Wellington since 1818. The centre of the Estate today is Stratfield Saye House where the 1st Duke lived from 1818 to 1852. But there are now, 200 years later, many different businesses and activities on the Estate.
